Important Note*
If the PSAdmin fails to print under “Print Test” in tools. This means that the printer is incompatible with the printer.
How to set up printer server:
PS Admin:
1. Make sure there is a green light on the left side where SERVER NAME is displayed.
2. Under Configurations, Click on TCP/IP Protocol to change the IP address.
EXAMPLE:
If you have an Airlink+ router or Linksys router.
Default IP for the router is 192.168.1.1, then change the TCP/IP for the PRINT SERVER to 192.168.1.254
EXAMPLE:
If you have an Netgear or Dlink router.
Default IP for the router is 192.168.0.1, then change the TCP/IP for the PRINT SERVER to 192.168.0.254
When all changes are made, make sure to click on Save Configurations under Confirgurations to save the changes.
3. Under Configurations, Click on Server Device. Click on LPT1, LPT2, or USB to which ever port you set your printer to, on the Printer Server physically.
4. In Port Configuration, write down the Port Name. EXAMPLE: PS-00FE29-U3
5. Go to Start, Settings, Printers and Faxes.
6. Add a printer.
7. In the Printer Wizard. Select Local printer attached to this computer.
8. The wizard was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers. To install the printer manually, click Next.
9. Create a new port, Choose Standard TCP/IP Port.
10. In Port Setup Wizard. Printer Name or IP Address: 192.168.1.254(or the IP you changed to from Step 2) and Port Name should be the same as the Port Name you wrote down in Step 4. Click Next.
11. Click Custom, then Settings. Set to LPR and Queue Name should be the same as Port Name in Step 4.
12. Now select your printer from the list or from your printer CD.
13. Try a Print Test in the General tab.
